Meditation is a great way to unwind and let go of the outside world. People, who meditate on a regular basis look and feel younger, more alert, more creative and better able to handle the day-to-day stresses. Meditation is also a very valuable tool for self-healing. Giving the body ‘quite time’ everyday helps to boost the immune system and keep you healthy.
There are several techniques for Meditation.
You can sit and listen to a guided meditation tape.
You can listen to relaxing music
You can chant a Mantra
Or
You can just “BE”
Any one of them will allow you to go within and unwind, be at peace with yourself and the world around you.
Meditation in any form is wonderful.
Here is a “White Light Meditation”
You can record this onto a tape or have someone read it to you.
Make sure you are warm and comfortable, and in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for 30 minuets or so.
Take a few deep breaths, filling your lungs with air. As you slowly exhale, think of relaxing every part of your body. Close your eyes and relax. As you continue to breath slowly and deeply, give special attention to stiff or painful areas in your body. Just breathe into those areas and allow your breath to take away all the stiffness and pain. Relax and go deeper.
Imagine a Ball of “White Light” hovering about 6″ above your head (pause) see this White Light as a very bright, clear and filled with wonderful healing energy (pause) Feel the energy from this ball of white light as it floats above your head (pause) Focus on your Crown Chakra and allow it to open and receive this wonderful Healing energy (pause) You are feeling completely safe and at ease (pause) Bring down this white light energy into your 3 rd eye (pause) down into your Throat (pause) on down into your Heart (pause) Thymus (pause) Solar Plexus (pause) Sacral (pause) Root Chakra (pause) and on down into your legs and toes. Feel your toes tingling as the energy fills them. (Pause) Picture this White Light energy filling your entire Body. (Pause) Now expand the white light to include the room you are in (pause) your home (pause) and breathe LOVE into it. (Pause) Expand your Love to all the people who are part of your life (pause) spread your Love to the town/city you live in (pause) Feel this wonderful healing energy going to any place or person you wish it to go to (pause)…. Maintain this feeling of Love for a few moments (pause)…… now draw back your Aura, back towards your body (pause) Feel the light around you (pause) Thank your Higher Self for this beautiful experience and when you are ready open your eyes and come back into the room.
